Artist Statement

As an artist, I've found that creating my own work has been a challenge. You can take your art in any direction you want it to and I'm incredibly indecisive. I like having diversity in my work which can both hinder and aid the creative process.
What really drives me are my friends and family, travel, and culture. I'm incredibly passionate about culture and bridging gaps. There are so many misconceptions in this world and I think that the media is hugely at fault, so I would love to be someone who could help break the barriers and show the real side of whatever it is that I want to capture. I think art is the most influential medium, so being able to tell a story that feels raw, whether it be fiction or non-fiction is so special to me.
I like films that are "show, don't tell". I like the build-up factor and having the film work up to the point slowly because there is so much more depth to the story that way. Moreover, I love "day in the life" style films because it's raw and real. You can never know what exactly happens behind the scenes of any photo or film unless you were really there, but I believe it's the job of the artist to capture the moments to portray the emotions that were being felt and translate that to the audience.
